I like the smooth powerful Cummins engine, and 6 speed manual trans. Great towing truck. Cons: How would you improve 2006 Dodge Ram 2500/3500?
Better interior ventilation. One has to crack a window to allow the AC or heater to work at full efficiency.
Better available axle gearing. This truck is capable of 25 mpg+ if it had proper gearing, and still lots of power.
Better suspension that is not as upset over ruts. 2006 Dodge Ram 2500/3500 Review:
This Ram is the best overall truck I've owned. Looks good, Drives good and runs good.
I'd buy another one if it had better gearing. |

A five speed automatic and a bit less interior plastic. 2006 Dodge Ram 2500/3500 Review:
Much nicer than previous 3500. Great towing capability and much smoother and controlled ride quality. The interior is a great deal better and a nice place to take a long ride. A Cummins diesel is a Cummins diesel--a truly built from the bottom up REAL diesel. None finer!!! |

Satellite radio, bucket seats, great mirriors, double console, rear seats fold down flat or recline, coldest A/C period. You will need some sort of step if you get 4x4, see if dealer can get them since model is so new aftermarket guys don't have anything yet. Get rid of the seatbelt dinger! Riding around a ranch, job site, truck yard, etc you don't need a seatbelt and for sure don't need that little bell making you crazy. If you haven't ordered yours yet go do it now! Third Dodge truck in our family going back to '97 and they keep getting better. I ordered this the first day you could back in July and have been counting the days. Who else can say they drive a truck that the backseat leg room is compaired to an S- class Benz? Go for the bucket seats up front and hog all the room for yourself, roll back the sunroof and enjoy. Cummings has more power than 99.5% of us needs and after the break- in should see 20 mpg highway or better. The backseat headrests make for a few blindspots but the oversized mirriors more than make up for it and make it so you never have to turn around to backup. Quiet,smooth,fancy, powerful |
