Pros: What do you like about 2006 Dodge Ram 2500/3500?
Excellent Engine. Can't beat the Cummins 5.9L. They are still a toddler at 92 thousand. Take care of engine and it will last you to 400 thousand easy. The truck will fall apart before the engine dies.

Cons: How would you improve 2006 Dodge Ram 2500/3500?
Definitely the paint quality. SUCKS Attention Dodge: GET RID OF THE CLEAR COAT and put some old fashioned paint on these trucks so that you can buff them to a shine.

Poor quality paint and Clear Coat. Unless you take extra care of the body it will look awful in 7 years.

2006 Dodge Ram 2500/3500 Review:
This is a great truck. I have the 5.9L with a 4 speed automatic transmission. I get excellent fuel mileage on highway driving at 1500 RPM. I usually get without towing anywhere from 26 to 29 MPG on level freeway cruising at 55 mph. Can't beat a diesel for mpg.

Lots of pulling power. 610 lb - ft. Can't beat it for pulling.

The only thing I wish Dodge would do is put a better paint job on these trucks. Very poor quality.

Truck would be better if I could take the ride of my Ford Lariat, the smooth manual trans from my Dakota, and the COLD a/c from our Lexus.

I like the smooth powerful Cummins engine, and 6 speed manual trans. Great towing truck.

Better interior ventilation. One has to crack a window to allow the AC or heater to work at full efficiency.
Better available axle gearing. This truck is capable of 25 mpg+ if it had proper gearing, and still lots of power.
Better suspension that is not as upset over ruts.

This Ram is the best overall truck I've owned. Looks good, Drives good and runs good.

I'd buy another one if it had better gearing.

Much nicer than previous 3500. Great towing capability and much smoother and controlled ride quality. The interior is a great deal better and a nice place to take a long ride. A Cummins diesel is a Cummins diesel--a truly built from the bottom up REAL diesel. None finer!!!
