Silky smooth 6-speed manual trans with pleasing gear ratio spacing. 230 hp V8 is ok. Cons: How would you improve 2006 Dodge Dakota?
Firm up the front suspension. It float like a land yacht from the '50's. Dash needs full instrumentation with better layout. 2006 Dodge Dakota Review:
Front suspension is very mushy. Vehicle pogo's down the road like the Titanic in a Tsunami. |

I have owned 3 chevy 1/2 ton P/u's in this class & 2 ford f 150's. Iwas was fairly happy w/ all & would have another F150 had they still built the 300 6 cyclinder. I was leery of the dodge as i did not here much good. I purchased a new slt Quad dakota and must say that to date it is the smootest running almost car like. Plenty of pep w/ the V8 Mag and gas mileage exceeds chevy and equals F150 when it made a 6. Truck is very comfortable w/ 4 large adult and can accomodate 6. Cons: How would you improve 2006 Dodge Dakota?
Would be nice to get near 20 miles to the gallon as gas is not cheap. |

I have the 4.7 V8 with a 6 speed manual trans. When shifting gears or letting off the gas the motor's RPM's stay right up where it was for about 3 seconds. Dealer says nothing is wrong with it, "they are all like that. I can't stand it! |

With all the new trucks out there this one is a looker. The ride is good, the 2 wheel model I own sits at the same level as a 4x4 but has all the options of a nice car. Cons: How would you improve 2006 Dodge Dakota?
Trucks all need better gas mileage. More standard HP like the Japaneese models. 2006 Dodge Dakota Review:

6 disk CD/MP3 player and heated cloth seats 2006 Dodge Dakota Review:
Handles great and is fun to drive. Not to mention I'm getting better fuel economy than what is on the sticker (just over 21) |
