I bought my Inferno Red Charger R/T in Feb of 06 and it always gets a lot of attention.
The Hemi has all the power I need to pass anyone any time I want.
The first time I drove it I was going 75 when I thought I was doing 65.
Very quiet at cruise.
Very nice sound when I floor it and very, very quick.
I have 40,000 miles on it.
I do enjoy using the manual shift at times.
Very roomy and comfortable and on a trip I average 25 miles per gallon.
Better quality front end tie rods sway bar construction. Cons: How would you improve 2006 Dodge Charger?
Original Continental Tires wore out with only 18k on them.
Emergency Brake light came on at 8k miles and was fixed?
Transmission O ring fixed at 15k miles.
Wiper Delay problem at 16k miles. They replaced with all new switch.
Clunk noise from front end at 22k. Fixed by replacing tension struts & sway bar bushings.
The above was during warranty.
The following is out of warranty problems as it was past the 3 years.
O2 Sensor failed at 27k miles. Fixed and I paid.
Rattle in front end at 36k again and parking light comes on again. They replaced the right front tension strut and replaced the left outer tie rod end. And the last item to date is they replaced a failed right outer tie rod end at 37k miles.
I now hear another clunking noise from the front end that will probably be the same problems as before. Not looking forward to paying for another repair. |

I have always loved muscle cars. I wanted to be a race car driver as a little girl..
When they brought out the New Charger I was in love.. I bought my 2006 Charger Se 3.5 high output Inferno Red Metalic Pearl paint job on May 30, 2006.
I love everything about it it has a great sounds system and great ESP the worked great in the Illinois snow.. I love my car I get some me heads that turn when they look at me. I have a little over 47000 miles on it right now.. I love the adjustable pedals.. Cons: How would you improve 2006 Dodge Charger?
I wish the 2006 Se would have came with fog lights.
Better wheel covers..
I did have the O ring replaced a couple of months after I had the car but that was standard recall no biggie to me..
I have had to replace the tire rod on the driver side.. but I made a lot of trips to Georgia and Georgia has some rough highways and streets.. 2006 Dodge Charger Review:

Roomy, good everyday performance for price.
Despite what others say about winter driving, I haven't experienced a rear-wheel drive that handles better than the Charger or the 300 with their traction system. It's no front-wheel or AWD though, if that's what they meant. A couple of bags of sand in the trunk might help. Cons: How would you improve 2006 Dodge Charger?
At 180,000km, I have already had it in the shop 3-4 times for front end work. Tie rods, bearings, shocks, etc.

I like the power that's there when you need it. I just bought it today.
I had a 1968 with a 383 Magnum when I was younger. I also had a 1969 RT. Wish I still had both of them.
The 5.7 Hemi is awesome.
The stereo system is great too.

1) Car looks great - very stylish and I get a lot of compliments on it.
2) Factory installed sound system is great.
3) Very roomy - haven't had any trouble with leg room for anyone. Cons: How would you improve 2006 Dodge Charger?
Would improve the way it is built - I have had numerous repairs, see below. 2006 Dodge Charger Review:
Too many repairs! (And most repairs were needed at the 40K-75K mileage range which is not a lot of miles for cars today.)
1) Lifters went out at 40K miles, just after it went out of warranty - $1700.
2) Had problems with a valve or sensor in the throttle system - $350.
3) Oxygen sensor - $350.
4) Several other repairs - can't even recall them all and most always cost at least $350 or more.
Also, now that my car has 105K miles it doesn't seem to have any power anymore and they are unable to give me a reason for it. I have done the required maintenance and it seems it has just lost its power over time. |

I hope by giving this review I don't jinx my car! However, I would have to say that I am very pleased with the performance and durability of my 2006 Dodge Charger SXT.
With over 95,000 miles, all I've done is change the oil every 4,000 miles, changed the tires, got a new battery and the periodic scheduled maintenance! That's it!
Drives smooth, and the style has not changed that much after owning the car for over 4 years. Most people think I am driving a 2008 or 2009. I hope to keep my car another 4 years and I hope my transmission will hold up for another 75,000 miles. I will get it repainted in late 2011 and I hope to keep on rolling! Cons: How would you improve 2006 Dodge Charger?
The molding on the outside rear windows needed to be glued more secure. 2006 Dodge Charger Review:

Great looks.
I am 6'2 so, most import cars I do not fit in comfortably.
One of the bigger cars on the road that is great for safety, great handling and reliability.. I now have 108,000 trouble free miles!

Well, I like the black leather interiors of the newer Charger, so that is how I would improve it! Otherwise they have the packages well done, s.e, sxt, R/T, Daytona and SRT.
Would have bought an R/T, but for the amount of driving I do, I couldn't spend the extra cash just for a bigger engine. I already have a truck and another high powered car, so as a daily driver the SXT is perfect. 2006 Dodge Charger Review:
Great car. It's used as my daily driver. It's an SXT (looks like an r/t 18 wheels fog lights ect) with the 3.5 h.o and 108,000 trouble free miles. I even ran it at the local drag strip it pulled a 15.57, not bad for a 4000 lb car with 2.82 rear axle ratio.. 7 second range 0-60 mph not bad for a 6 cyl, 4000 lb car! |

Comfort, room and style.
Better overall than your front wheel drive imports.
Very easy to upgrade, tons of stuff. Cons: How would you improve 2006 Dodge Charger?
1-Chrysler should have done a MOPAR SXT Performance upgrades which are available now. Complete dual exhaust.
2-Cold air intake.
3-Performance short tube headers.
4-Diablo sports or Super Chip tuning (W/MOPAR badging).
5-Complete or separate sway bars, spring and shock tunning.
6-Upgrade brakes to R/T specs w/ceramic pads (low dust).
7-A Supercharger! W/out the charger, 300-310 hp to the fly wheel, w/charger -400-425! Why a SE or SXT? More economical and most important, less weight which means better handling and 0-60 and 1/4 mile times to boot! 2006 Dodge Charger Review:

5.7 hemi is very responsive, steering & suspension make this car ride like a big sedan but steer and respond like a sports car.
Factory sound system is superb.
Very attractive exterior styling.
And the interior? Well it can seat 4 adults VERY comfortably, leg room is great for a family with 2 tall teenage kids.
Love the black on white gauge set also. Cons: How would you improve 2006 Dodge Charger?
While interior is very roomy and clean, the dash and door panels do lack some character and styling, kind of plain to the eye.
Mufflers might get a "performance upgrade". 2006 Dodge Charger Review:

Bought this car new. Love it, 5.8 hemi gomango, love the color.
Haven't had it above 100mph, but it will do the 160 no doubt.

The look, the feel, the fact that you can push on the gas and it goes.
I am a tall person and love the fact that it has so much leg room no matter where you are sitting.
I love the simplicity but sheer effectiveness of this car (inside and out).

I have read that a lot of people have certain issues with these cars. Although, I have to say in reading them they seem to all be related to the 3.5L and not the 5.7L or 6.1L. I have a 5.7L RT and do not have any issues with it thus far. 2006 Dodge Charger Review:
All in all a great car to own, drive and play in. One thing, when you think you are doing 60 MPH sometimes you are actually doing 90 MPH. BE CAREFUL!!! |

Better fuel economy.
Better winter drivability, tires, wheels are developing leaks around the bead.
I have had no problems with the brake rotors, and only a slight trans leak that was fixed. (O-ring composite under extreme cold.)
Make the cup holders in the rear better, they do not hold a coffee cup when you kick in the Hemi, (coffee all over the floor and seats).
The computer lost communication with the keys the other day, and left my wife stranded at work (not good). I reset the computer by disconnecting the battery, but the dealer said they would prefer I had the car towed $ yea Chrysler knows there is a problem but still no fixes.
The power windows quit working also, if you push the switch and slam the door they will work again, it is said they have bad regulators, the brushes in the motor are loose.
And the front end parts are crappy, I put new tie rod ends on it and the local cop car has had three sets of balljoints. 2006 Dodge Charger Review:

Need to RECALLED on the gear shift, that is a factory problem just had to replace it. There were other chargers there getting the same repair. 2006 Dodge Charger Review:
