Pros: What do you like about 2006 Chrysler Sebring? The interior is very roomy and comfortable, especially for long rides. It drives nicely, and is easy to control. It also has an excellent stereo system, for a factory system. Cons: How would you improve 2006 Chrysler Sebring? Selling it and not buying another one with a 2.4 Liter V-4 engine in it, ever again!!!! 2006 Chrysler Sebring Review: I was really impressed by the car when we first purchased it. We had a great first week, but then the problems started happening. When we bought it, it had 42,000 miles on it, and we started having some shifting problems with the transmission right off the bat. We took it to the shop, and they had to do a transmission flush on it. We got it back, drove it for, well not even a month, and it was losing power as I was driving down the road, like the engine was trying to die. Took it back to the shop and had to have the spark plugs replaced because there was a short or a faulty plug or something. Ok, got that fixed. Car was running great... or so I thought. Not even a WEEK later, while driving with the cruise control on, down the highway at 65 mph, I heard a large popping noise, and the engine started to shake and rattle, like I had lost my motor mounts and it was about to fall out. So I pulled over and my husband came and got me, and we towed it back to the shop. This time, they told me there was no salvaging the engine. There was a problem with the pistons, and basically the lower half of the engine had blown up within itself... So, not even 5,000 miles and three months into owning the car, we had to drop a new engine into it, including paying close to what we paid for the car in repairs to keep the car on the road. I would not recommend a sebring with this size of an engine in it to anyone, because they aren't worth their money. By the way, I spoke to the car salesman who worked at the dealership that sold us the car, seeing what might be done to rectify this situation, as all the mess was going on, and all he had to say to me was "We don't have any recollection of these types of problems being common, but Sebrings are very popular vehicles, and are mass-produced. I hate to say it, but the more they manufacture, and the faster they are demanded to be made, the poorer the quality will be on each vehicle, because there will be less time spent testing each vehicle to ensure the quality." Ok, if that's not saying something, I don't know what is... |
