Made in america/china quality. Cons: How would you improve 2006 Chevrolet Uplander?
I am a GM auto tech. Power sliding doors are impossible to fix, we have almost all parts installed in both doors, and they will work for a while, but will COME BACK. Tried adjusting, tried doing things GM don't tell us to do, still don't work. All of this under warranty (on average on ALL warranty jobs that take 3 hrs GM only pays 1 hr) so the dealers LOOSE $. Now these clunkers are out of warranty with the same problems and GM doesn't care!!!!! Went bankrupt, next (within 7 years) they will be out of business. PS. The 06' Uplander LT EXT. AWD, good on fuel, roomy. Cons: How would you improve 2006 Chevrolet Uplander?
When making a left or right turn there is a loud noisy sound.
And after about 18 months of use, the rack pinion had to be changed, humming to the driver rear, changed bearing sound is still there. Still need to change upper stabilizer bushings.
Rear passenger door does not power lock, had too change rear wiper motor. 2006 Chevrolet Uplander Review:
I wouldn't buy another Uplander, that's for sure. |

Air stopped working, heated seats don't work anymore, sliding doors don't work, brakes and rotors useless, rear tires wear on outside edge even with regular rotating, rear wiper stopped working, problem with steering, radio replaced tree times including all the wiring, still does not work properly - just gave up - Do not buy used one - no wonder they are not making anymore. |

Comfort, easy to drive.
Lots of room when back seats are down.
Large gas tank, dvd player.
Everything works!!

Have 36000 miles on mine and oxygen sensor and tie rod have required replacement...
Extremely noisy going down highway....

ALOT! When it had just over 1,00o miles on it it was in the shop for various things including the sliding door opening on its own and rusted molding along the side. Now with just over 18,000 miles the whole ABS system module broke dealership fixes it and now van doesn't work at all. GM now has to buy it back and pay off our loan, refund all payments, and give us a new vehicle. Had to get the lemon law attornies involved. After 2008 GM is not making them anymore due to all the problems with them. 2006 Chevrolet Uplander Review:

This vehicle is a piece of junk. We have had issues regarding the door and front end. GM is horrible to deal with and doesn't not care that there are MAJOR safety issues with the sliding doors opening and closing even when van is moving. I will not buy a GM product again!!! 2006 Chevrolet Uplander Review:
Again, GM has MAJOR safety issues with this van and they do not care. We have complained constantly regarding this issue. It is ashamed that we pay a note on a vehicle and don't even trust it to go out of town. BOO GM!!!! |

You could not give me this car. The fact that we bought this brand new with 8 miles on it. It has been in the shop for brake/rotor issues and now the doors are coming open when you are driving but the dealer cannot find a thing wrong with it. Interesting... research this car and you will find many complaints about the doors. |

Redesign the front seats.The cloth style front seats are the worst I have ever sat in. Your body weight is put on the sides of your upper legs and not on the bottom of your butt. After two hours of riding both passenger and and driver complain of leg pain. |

bought in aug 06 total lemon been leaking every time it rains or snowed dealer worked very hard to find leak never able to fine it.found out with GM it is a take it or leave it deal. just remember if you happen to get a lemon they will only give you back the msrp you paid NO OPTIONS AND NO INCENTIVES OR REBATES ON ANOTHER CAR WHICH INCLUDES YOU WILL NOT GET THE GREAT INTEREST RATE YOU WERE OFFERED ON THE LAST CAR SHAME ON GM |

If they could get it to have a little more power I would buy a new one.I still really like my van and it is great on gas. using the instant economy we have consistently got 22 to 23 mpg.We seem to have plenty of room for luggage even when we have 5 or 6 passengers. We are Foster Parents so the van is always on the go.My wife and I I enjoy driving it and the ride is very comfortable even on long trips. |
