Give us a correction for the bounce at high speeds (65 and up) on CEMENT FREEWAYS. There is no bounce on asphalt freeways. Drives me nuts on long trips. 2006 Chevrolet Silverado Review:
Very good truck but it bounces on the cement freeways at 65 or higher speeds, not on asphalt freeways. I checked with other owners and tested GMC and another Cevy and they all bounced on the new cement freeway??? WHY AND HOW CAN YOU CORRECT IT? |

Truck is fine around town and on flat roads. Has a really harsh downshift pattern which will take you, in a heartbeat, from a quiet 1800 RPM to a screaming 4000 RPM climbing a moderate rise either in cruise or with footfeed. This is the V6 with auto/od tranny. I just took it on its first trip, which will be its last. |

| 2006 Chevrolet Silverado Review:
The truck is a 2004 and has been in the shop 3 times for leaning, one time for burned out 2nd and 3rd clutch in transmission and the speed meter locking up. The outside trim is boring and the front right tire going square. The service dept. told me about the tire going square was from not rotating the tires, but I rotated my tires every 3-4 thousand miles and have the paperwork to prove it. This truck only has 20,000 miles and has all these problems. What happened to "like a rock"? This logo needs to be changed. I also talked to alot of Chevy owners who where having the same problem with the transmissions. |

Hey we would all love better milage but I bought a truck to haul stuff. And it does a great job. I can live with the 15mpg on a daily basis. I can't wait to see the new body style for next year. 2006 Chevrolet Silverado Review:
This truck runs better than a Ford ever thought of running. The interior, I admit, it does seem a little plain, but the seat is so comfortable. It just fits. This truck runs like a scalded dog. I absolutely love this truck. |

I have the LT3 Crew Cab with the 6.0L V8. 345 hp and still get 15 mpg with everyday driving. This is my second Silverado. I had a 2001 LS Ext Cab short box w/5.3L V8 and had 0 problems in the 62,000 miles/3 yrs I had it. This one I have only had a month but I am very pleased with my purchase. |

OnStar, XM radio, new '06 grill treatment and HD-look hood different than "Avalanche-looking 2004-05 Silverado's", comfy cloth seats, fuel economy (19 mpg at 73 mph), Driver Information Center, easy to steer, signal-power-fold mirrors, daytime lights, my complements to my dealer. Exterior and interior redesign overdue since intoduction in Fall 1998 as a 1999 model, storage usage in rear seat area, five-speed or six-speed automatic needed over the four speed only offered at this time, needs better crash test results, needs offering of side-curtain and side-seat airbags. 2006 Chevrolet Silverado Review:
I have 5,100 miles on my Victory RED '06 now and not excited or disappointed. This is a nice average American truck that has had 7 or 8 years to work out the proplems since it's introduction in Fall of 1998. This truck still does not compete with the likes of the Nissan Titan, as of yet....I hope the 2007 Silverado redo will put the Silverado back on the top. I don't tow anything and choose the low gears (3.42) for fuel economy, and quite surprised with 17.1 average with 15 city/19 highway, just as the window sticker indicated. Plenty of power, but not as much as the Nissan Titan which in turn gives 14 mpg average. Brakes work great since GM dropped rear discs for old-school drums in 06 |

The options I chose: V8 engine, heavy duty suspension, locking diff, HD trailer package. Fuel economy is best in class. The center console holds full size papers perfectly. Cons: How would you improve 2006 Chevrolet Silverado?

I just purchased this truck, still on the first tank of gas. Traded a 2004 chevy with 39K miles and got $6000 less than I paid. $6000 for 39000 miles is not bad, never a days trouble either. Better than the $10000 less offered to my friend for his one year old Titan with 23000 miles by the Nissan dealer. So much for the the so called great resale value of the imports. This 2006 drives like a dream. Smooth, powerful, quiet, and comfortable. Everything I could ask for. |
