I have the SS model White with leather taupe interior. Love the car. Cons: How would you improve 2006 Chevrolet Impala?
The noise in steering-column have been repaired twice, have checked but no recall at this time. |

I had a V-8 before my Chevy so, I would say gas mileage and I do have a nice Bose sound system. Cons: How would you improve 2006 Chevrolet Impala?
No room in the back, knocking in the passenger dash-board, shocks went bad right after warranty. Transmission appears to be close to needing some attention, information system is displaying low tire pressure in tires that are fine. Wash fluid light comes off and on. Great power, great interior, looks good. I have changed my oil every 3000 miles. I enjoy the rear seat turn down, and the compartment under the rear seat. Cons: How would you improve 2006 Chevrolet Impala?
Column on front and rear doors faded, Steering knuckles making noise.
More leg room in the rear, I travel with my young grandsons. But if adult is in the rear seat, it is not comfortable. Replaced the battery, and could not do this myself, I had to have a repair facility do it. |

Looks great and has plenty of power. Cons: How would you improve 2006 Chevrolet Impala?
I bought my SS used from the dealer. 27k. Since 24,500 miles, wasn't told by the dealer when purchased. The following has been done.
Replace Engine
Replace Heads
Replace Throttle Body
Some Body stuff like weather stripping and a door handle.
I drove approx. lk on the new engine and found a big puddle of oil in my garage. Rear Main Seal.
I had two days left on my warranty and it was covered. What Next? 2006 Chevrolet Impala Review:
I am very upset with the dealer for not telling me about all the previous problems with this vehicle before my purchase. The dealer had this information and did not disclose it to me. I did not find this out until I had the rear main seal leak and the Chevy dealer I took it to said, did they tell you about the history of this vehicle when purchased. Quality? I now have 29,200 miles on the car, how can anyone sell a product like this to the American Public and expect a return customer. |

Where do I Start. Had just about everything replaced except the engine so far. 3 transmission. New radiator, water pump, battery, starter. I wish I had my receipts in front of me...the list goes on, and on. I am very disappointed in the car. 2006 Chevrolet Impala Review:

Car drives great. Like the idea of the driver info. center that can give you info. on oil, tire pressure, etc. Car drives smooth. Cons: How would you improve 2006 Chevrolet Impala?
Cupholders, cupholders, cupholders!!! Need a cupholder in front that can support any type of cup. Seats need to be more cushiony cause they are not as comfortable as my Buick was. |

The body of the car I really love the style. Cons: How would you improve 2006 Chevrolet Impala?
Leg room in the back especially the previous models "2001" by far had much more room, this one is much smaller in the back. The front still is very roomy do not change that leg room, this is the first car I have found with excellent leg room in the front, especially for long legged guys you can move the seat back and your legs are not in the dash. Interior not as nice, seems cheep, but not as nice as previous Impala. Also I have notice a very noticeable rattle in the front of my car since I got it. 2006 Chevrolet Impala Review:
Overall I love the Chevy impala, but if it continue to decrease in size I will have to move on to a family size vehicle. |

I love the style, both exterior and interior. I am a long legged dude and I don't need the seat all the way back to be comfortable. It's solid on the road and gives great gas mileage for this size car. I have the Flex-Fuel 3.5L and while I have yet to try E85, on regular unleaded we get 26 mpg on local trips and 31-32 mpg on long drives. Cons: How would you improve 2006 Chevrolet Impala?
The steering seems to be just a bit quick for me but then I am used to herding my old '81 Dodge Power Ram down the road. As I drive the Impala more I am getting more used to how it handles. Rear seat leg room is tight. 2006 Chevrolet Impala Review:

I bought an '06 Impala SS, and it's so much more car than the '04 Impala LS that I previously owned; much sleeker exterior, much improved interior; I just wish they had gotten more traditional with the rear styling and used 6 round taillights' also the front license plate holder is very flimsy and totally takes away from the look of the front of the car; it should have been integrated into the lower center area, below the bumper. I am a loyal Chevy owner, and this is a great car!! |

Well, let’s just start off by saying I love this car! I really like the new body style and the new interior features/looks. The first time I rode in one it just took my breath away. It was exhilarating. From the V8 engine to the XM satellite radio-it's got it all. I had test driven just about everything including a Honda Accord. None managed to impress me that much, until I got to the Impala. The all new size engines and totally new design were the most impressing thing about, following its 5 star crash rating. I was really happy to see that they changed the design of the vents and the instrumental panels. Plus the MPG is awesome. The ride/performance is very outstanding comparing to other vehicles. Even with its 3.5 liter engine it is still a powerful car. So far I have really enjoyed it and I hope I continue to enjoy it. Cons: How would you improve 2006 Chevrolet Impala?
The main thing I would suggest to improve on is the smoothness of the ride. Another thing is the sturdiness of the dash and instrumental panels. After only seven months I already have a very quiet yet noticeable rattle when I pass over bumps. The final thing I would suggest is the space inside the car. Try to enlarge the leg room. 2006 Chevrolet Impala Review:

This car has gobbs of power but its hard to use when the engine overpowers the front wheels. The sound system is very very very good crank it up and enjoy. I love the styling its very slick. I also love being able to pass whoever I want by just thinking about it. This car is that fast. Cons: How would you improve 2006 Chevrolet Impala?
Fire the person who put a V-8 in this car and made it front wheel drive. No wonder GM is begging for money right now. if you dig into the gas too deep and don't have a good grip on the wheel the car is subject to go where it wants to. Cheap plastic panels on the outside door pilars was stupid since they are fading already. The carpet is cheap for a high end car. 2006 Chevrolet Impala Review:
This Chevy has the SS badge on it which in the past stood for high performance class and styling. 2 out of three ain't bad. Get rid of the front wheel drive and dump the cheap plastic door panels install real carpet and this car would sell like hot cakes. Oh yeah once the car becomes rear wheel drive offer a turbo kit and watch the speeding tickest fly. |

I have a 2007 Impala LT (3.9L, V-6). I like the acceleration on demand with plenty of passing and freeway merging power. The ride fairly comfortable and controls are readily accessible. The leather seats nice and comfortable during highway cruising. Cons: How would you improve 2006 Chevrolet Impala?
While the interior is nice, I occassionally wished for more side bolster support while cornering hard. I have driven some of the Impala's competitors and I notice they have less wind and tire noise at highway speeds. Also, there are times wished for a manual-automatic selector shift feature and a 5 or 6 speed transmission. IMPROVEMENTS RECOMMENDED: 1. Reduced wind & road noise, 2. More advanced transmission, 3. Offer for more sporting seats. 2006 Chevrolet Impala Review:
Overall, I like my 2007 Impala. It is reasonably comfortable, is fairly fuel efficient, handles good, and has a good price. It is also very reliable. Kudos for and American car maker. Now reduce the noise and put your more advanced transmission in it for the same price and you'll have a winner in my book. |
