2006 Buick Lucerne Review:
While I like my 06 Sharkskin Lucerne CXL with titanium leather, I think GM could make the changes listed above to have the Buick stand out from the competition. This is Buick's top of the line model and should attract the senior set as usual, but still attracting the younger pre senior adults, but judging the car is hard and probably deters the older buyer. I am not a senior and does not pose any issues in judging the car. Car is quiet inside with all of the rubber seals used to obtain it. Could make the window glass thicker to block out the noise better. Offer a 6" stretch like Chrysler is doing with the 300 model. GM pared down the full size Buick availability that offers roominess for four adults, but Buick is known for older adult attraction to the model. I think GM has done a good job to the new model but missed the boat that attracted the loyal return buyers. Baby boomers are peaking & I believe if improvements are made GM will pull the buying crowd back in.

Guide: 5=Perfect; 3=Good; 1=PoorPros: What do you like about 2006 Buick Lucerne?
Size.
Good highway cruiser.
Style.
It's quiet.
Cons: How would you improve 2006 Buick Lucerne?
Don't need the low profile tires. Why try to make it so stiff for in town driving.
Long term durability is not good. I have had to replace both front struts, the OEM tiers were worthless, and had to be replaced after 45,000 miles.
I wanted to keep this car for about 7 to 8 years. I will not. 3 of the doors are showing severe rust blistering on the bottom inside. One had been bead blasted and repainted at 45000 miles by the dealer already. The rest of the car is as mint as a 2006 can be.
The V6 has no acceleration on the highway and is not the quickest when getting on the high way.
In town mileage is bad. High way mileage is decent if you don't push it.
The interior has some quirks after having the car for 5 years. Rattles and buzzing of the plastic which is very noticeable because the car was designed to be quiet.
I am not impressed with the car and although it is being discontinued, would not recommend it.
I will not be buying another Buick after having 5 of them. I see nothing new other the body trim styles. They are using the same V6 on the V6 models with no real improvements in performance or mileage.
2006 Buick Lucerne Review:
Long term not a good buy. Be prepared to see the value drop fast after the 6th year, if not sooner.

Guide: 5=Perfect; 3=Good; 1=PoorPros: What do you like about 2006 Buick Lucerne?
Bought first model of dealer's showroom in 2006.
I have over 45,000 miles on now.
It is a classy car and people still make favorable comments on it.
No real problems.
Cons: How would you improve 2006 Buick Lucerne?
Improve the gas mileage..I only get 19 miles, mostly city driving.

Guide: 5=Perfect; 3=Good; 1=PoorCons: How would you improve 2006 Buick Lucerne?
There is no lumbar support, but the worst thing is the steering. It pulls to the right, and no one can fix it. I am 83 years old and have always loved Buick. However, I am so tired of fighting to keep this car on the road, I plan to trade for a BMW. Hitting just a small amount of water will throw the car. NOT a fun car to drive. I wish everything in the new cars wasn't computerized - I would fix it, myself.

Guide: 5=Perfect; 3=Good; 1=PoorPros: What do you like about 2006 Buick Lucerne?
Rides good.
Good on gas.
Good pep.
Cons: How would you improve 2006 Buick Lucerne?
Mid console arm rest too short.
Back up has blind spots.
Do not like passenger mirror pointing down when backing up.
Cup holders too shallow, cannot stop cups, bottles, etc. from falling.
Door pockets too shallow.
Nice big car, lacking storage compartments, no place for sunglasses..

Guide: 5=Perfect; 3=Good; 1=PoorPros: What do you like about 2006 Buick Lucerne?
I purchased my 2006 Lucerne in 2009, with 18,124 miles.
Super-comfortable seats with excellent back support.
Smooth, quiet ride.
Love the 6-disk cd changer and stereo system.
Cons: How would you improve 2006 Buick Lucerne?
Front end designed too long and "bulgy."
Cannot see rear of car -- parallel parking impossible.
Front airdam too low -- scrapes on curbs.
Too-large posts hamper vision.
Trunk lid needs key entry, too.
Cannot see wiper fluid level when filling.
Exterior too plain -- needs more chrome trim and more-detailed body lines.
Paint should be metallic.
Needs whitewall tires to make the chrome wheels "pop."
2006 Buick Lucerne Review:
This is a very comfortable, top-quality car with a superior engine, and that is why I bought it, but it is not the head-turner that my 19-year-old 1991 Buick Riviera continued to be until the day I sold it. I'll never be "in love" with my Lucerne because the exterior is just too plain and boring.

Guide: 5=Perfect; 3=Good; 1=PoorPros: What do you like about 2006 Buick Lucerne?
Beauty!!
No problem with finish on my red cxl v-6.
Love the heated & cooled seats.
Very quiet and comfortable.
Cons: How would you improve 2006 Buick Lucerne?
Problem with computer locking system at 9,000 miles. Warranty took care of it.
Would like better gas mileage.
2006 Buick Lucerne Review:
I've had two Roadmasters and the Lucerne is no Roadmaster! But I am happy with my Lucerne since the Roadmaster is out of the question.

Guide: 5=Perfect; 3=Good; 1=PoorPros: What do you like about 2006 Buick Lucerne?
I love the ride it gives me. My children live 1500 miles from me and I can make the trip alone drive straight through and not feel I have been beat to death.
Cons: How would you improve 2006 Buick Lucerne?
The center console needs to be longer.
The cup holders need to be deeper.
2006 Buick Lucerne Review:
I have had to have both ti-rods replaced on my car within 6 mo of each other, had to have the steering gear on the rack and pinion steering replaced, the drivers side door handle replace or repaired 2 times.
No one drives this car but myself and I know I am not ruff on a car and I take care of it. Makes me wonder if it is safe?

Guide: 5=Perfect; 3=Good; 1=PoorPros: What do you like about 2006 Buick Lucerne?
The economy is okay and the car has a nice appearance outside.
Cons: How would you improve 2006 Buick Lucerne?
It is the worse vehicle I've owned. My worse problem is with suspension. The vehicle road walks with a ridge in the highway and dips and is difficult to handle when you hit a rough place in the road. I have had the struts replaced on the rear and the tie rod ends on the right front. I placed new tires on the front to match the manufactures brand and the tires aligned twice by different shops. The vehicle has been taken care of and it looks new with 43,000 miles and under warranty until July 2010. I've had it in the shop three times, and again most recently for replacement of remote module for door, etc. I feel the vehicle is unsafe.

Guide: 5=Perfect; 3=Good; 1=PoorPros: What do you like about 2006 Buick Lucerne?
quite ride inside
Cons: How would you improve 2006 Buick Lucerne?
Steering to the right is not good and has been worked on over 6 times, and not corrected yet
