For a truck, this is a great handling vehicle with precise steering, excellent tire grip and outstanding brakes. This truck will outhandle most cars on the road with ease. The gas mileage is quite poor..16 mpg city, 22 highway and it takes premium fuel. The storeage space is quite limited for a truck. The automatic transmission is fair, at best..if you can drive a stick shift, I'd recommend it. Despite these shortcomings, this is about the most driving enjoyment you'll ever find in an SUV. |

it is a nice looking vehicle. Cons: How would you improve 2006 BMW X3?
there is very little room in the front seat area-no where to put a purse or if you try to eat in the car with a passenger -there just isn't enough room for anything. 2006 BMW X3 Review:

We had to bring it to the service center for a defective part with 4 months of owning it. They took 3 days to fix the problem. That never happened to us when we had the Toyota Camry. |

Have yet to find anything I really like about this car. Cons: How would you improve 2006 BMW X3?
At the top of a long list: Build a transmission that operates better than a C-6 Ford transmission. Build a sunroof that does not leak air . Make the doors close with a more solid sound than a "clink". 2006 BMW X3 Review:
BMW quality is sinking fast. This model does not deserve the BMW logo. Paid $41,000 for this car. Not a stripped model. Problems from day one. |

None. I hate I bought it 2006 BMW X3 Review:
There a too many malfunctions with the X3; 1) doors do not unlock and lock - intermittent. 2) Sunroof does not close completely - intermittent 3) Flat tire light stays on when tires have been checked by the dealer. 4) Jerks in 3rd gear. 5) Not roomy enough. 6) Does not give the BMW feel/lacks quality overall. |

On board computer, tilt-down reverse mirror, Bluetooth technology, incredible sunroof, seats that fit like a glove, telescopic steering wheel, world class suspension, silky inline 6 engine. Cons: How would you improve 2006 BMW X3?

With the 2006 iteration of the X3, the gray cladding is gone from the front end. A matching painted from end with repositioned fog lights has dramatically improved the aesthetics of the vehicle. Our X3 has been driven some 800 miles, and over these miles the vehicle has performed flawlessly. The quality and finish on this factory ordered X3 is first class. The handling is superb. The X-Drive works to make driving in water-filled pitted lanes far less demanding of the driver. The X3 isn't an M3 when it comes to handling, but is IMHO handily superior to the offerings by other SUV marques. Overall, the X3 is quality and value under $50k. |

Fun to drive, reliable, comfortable, love the extra large sunroof on the 3.0, great pick-up, heated seats, handy storage spaces Cons: How would you improve 2006 BMW X3?
Sunroof leaked with heavy rain, brought into dealer for repair. Repaired without further incident and received a loaner during this time. Car doors need a little extra push to close tightly. 2006 BMW X3 Review:

Bluetooth, MP3 Player. I can put 6+ CDs of music on a single CD. Tight suspension, very responsive driving.I love the standard features and options: MP3 player, satellite radio, (don't need the 6-disc CD), leather, blue-tooth for my cell - no problem making phone calls with the button on the wheel. Cons: How would you improve 2006 BMW X3?
Give just a little more LCD for display. Have to toggle between radio, time, satellite, phone, etc. Would like to have more displayed at the same time. Just a little more room for back-seat passengers (less cargo). Not a good drive for 4 adults for a long trip. 2006 BMW X3 Review:
Previous car - 1998 4-door BMW M3. Though this car can't compare, it's a fun vehicle to drive. It's roomier than the M3, handles fairly well, has a higher ground clearance. Has Luxury yet not overly done, clean lines. Haven't had it long enough to experience any problems, but I had my M3 for 6 years before problems started popping up. I expect to have this one just as long. 4-years maintenance was too attractive to pass up. Test drove many SUVs (at least 10 cars); the rides were close, but BMW had the maintenance and the tighter steering. I don't mind a stiffer ride if I can feel the road. This isn't a smooth-car ride. |

Quiet, well designed, durable, easy to clean interior. Upgraded sound with auxillary iPod capability. Sporty driving experience without giving up luxury. Cons: How would you improve 2006 BMW X3?

Wow!!! I love this vehicle. I have the silver gray metallic with the black and terra cotta interior. It drives like a sport sedan, but with a higher view like a SUV. The interior is very well done and easy to clean. I have the auxillary input for my iPod, and with the upgraded stereo, the sound is fantastic. I had a 2004 Acura TL, but this summer I hydroplaned and wanted to replace it with something all-wheel drive and more like a SUV without giving up the sportier/more luxurious side of driving. I could not have asked for anything better. The only...and I repeat, only downside is the fuel economy. |
