Not much to complain about, love the car. Fun to drive, reasonably good gas mileage and practical all in one. Extremely reliable so far with 26K in miles; that's a first with European cars and this being my 3rd including Volvo XC70 and BMW 530i. |

Love the interior, especially at night! Agressive but subtle stance. Suspension is very responsive and balanced. The engine really suits this car well- plenty of power, even at high speeds. Fuel Economy! Cons: How would you improve 2006 Audi A3?

In May, I ordered a 2006 A3 2.0TFSI 6SPD M LavaGry/SportPkg/Xenon/RearSide Airbags/Cold Weather PKG/ - Since then I was constantly scanning this forum trying to assure myself I made a good choice. All was confirmed when I picked it up from the dealer today. This car is tight! Torque is strong and readily available throughout the revs. I can't wait until I break the engine in and I can let the car pull through 5000 to the redline. I love the dash at night and the Xenons truly light the way! Ordered a Set of 18" 9 Spoke S4 wheels wrapped in Pirreli P-Zero NeroM&S tire. They'll handle the torque! |

Just traded in my very yellow Mazdaspeed Protege for a base A-3. After a week I am pretty impressed with the car's performance and refinement. The car feels much quicker than the Mazda and vastly improved driveability. It is a little more like a wagon than a hot hatchback. I would probably wait for the VW GTI if I were more patient. Would have preferred the sport package +Bose radio but I couldn't seem to find one equipped that way without buying the Skyroof. The base radio and interior are OK but not as sporty unique as the Mazdaspeed Protege. The dealer was fairly uninformed about MP3, Satellite Radio and this new model in general. Still for $25K, a great buy! |

The front of the car looks Great, Back end is so so. Motor is exciting. Interior seems to be very well built, It feels like we are driving a 50k dollar car, for only 25k :) Cons: How would you improve 2006 Audi A3?

We picked up our A3 last weekend and haven't stopped driving since!!! We went with the base model, No leather, 6 Speed. The only thing we wished we would of got is navigation, but we solved that with a dash mounted Tom Tom GPS unit. |

I use to own a '83 Audi 4000s God I loved that car until it die with over 200k miles on it, ever since I wanted another audi but the A4 just did not appeal to me, now the A3 it just called my name and had to have it. Love the car is fast and agile and very convenient, I love the look on those BMW and SUV owners when they look at it with a gaze. |

Base trim. This is a great ride. Power always ready to go. DSG has best automatic program ever. Superb brakes. Real-world space for adults. Sticks to road like quattro. Superior fit and finish. Top-quality plastics and cloth. Nits: Watch the throttle in traffic. Power can come in a rush, you??re on the bumper of the car in front in no time. Body lean adds thrilling feel of danger in cornering. Low seat, roof, small glass = closed-in feeling. Boxy sounding stereo, radio reception among the worst. Fussy HVAC system if you want manual control. Shallow ??trunk', seats don't go flat. Surprising drivetrain and tire noise. Manual seat controls are pure 80??s econobox, laughable here. |

Have mine for 6K miles. So far it's great. Tight ride, quick, the skylight opens the whole car up. The DSG trans is AWESOME. This coming from someone who hasn't owned an automatic for 20 years. Slight turbo lag in low (1st) gear but no problem in Sport or Manual mode. I don't see many on the road... this is a good thing. |

the space between the foot feed and the brake pedal is a little close for me. 2006 Audi A3 Review:
After driving a BMW 3 series for 4 years and believing it was the only car to drive, what a breath of fresh air. I have discovered that thru brain washing of myself that there is a far better alternative regardless of how the magazines continue to rate the bmw. The little A3 out performs handle and is by far more fun to drive, and equipping the Bmw with the options I have on the Audi.....I save about $9,000. This truly is a great automobile. |

Manual transmission self-braking feature for uphill starts. Parking brake on manual tranny interferes with arm rest steering wheel mounted cruise control buttons would be nice. Currently the steering wheel blocks the view of the cruise control operating lever. 2006 Audi A3 Review:
After owning two minivans in a row we were somewhat concerned about the smaller size of the Audi. The fun factor more then makes up for any size issues. We find outselves looking for reasons to go places. This car is a blast to drive. Mileage after 1200 miles on the odometer is averaging about 28-30 mpg. Fit and finish is great, performance is outstanding. All in all a very impressive car at this point. |
