Pros: What do you like about 2005 Toyota Avalon? I like and enjoy it very much, very smooth and roomy. Also very quiet. Cons: How would you improve 2005 Toyota Avalon? The quality. I'm disappointed because of the serious problems I've had with it. 2005 Toyota Avalon Review: I am very disappointed at Toyota's quality. The Avalon is touted as being the flagship of Toyota. That is not the case with me. At 54,000 miles I experienced an accuator failure and cam housing leak. Cost to repair was $4978.00 (It was still under warranty, so cost to me was 0$). For such a serious malfunction so early in the mileage disappointed me greatly. Up to that time I had no serious problems. Then at 63,000 miles both oxygen sensors went bad. The mechanic that worked on it was surprised that the sensors went out so early. According to him these sensors function upwards of 100,000 miles!! Cost to repair was approximately $1800.00 (at the Dealership, I took it to a mechanic friend and he repaired it for $750.00). Now I'm hearing that recalls have been issued for the Avalon because of the engine revving up and accelerating very rapidly. I am saddened by these malfunctions because it is really an enjoyable car to drive. I'm considering buying a new vehicle and I will definitely not consider, even though, it drives nicely purchasing a new Avalon. I'm considering purchasing an Acura.

Pros: What do you like about 2005 Toyota Avalon? Very dependable. I have 55,000 miles on it and zero problems. Easy ride. Good gas mileage often get 28-31 mpg on the highway. Cons: How would you improve 2005 Toyota Avalon? Slight wind whistle in back window next to drivers head. Neds to be eliminated. Paint job could be a little more durable 2005 Toyota Avalon Review: THis is the best quality car I hve ever owned.

Pros: What do you like about 2005 Toyota Avalon? The looks are great. Quality is the worst of the 4 Avalons I've owned Cons: How would you improve 2005 Toyota Avalon? Either fix the plastic doors that cover the controls or remove them. One won't close, another won't open without a screwdriver. Glue the fancy wood grain panels down or design a clip to hold them in place. Fill the dashboard with foam to reduce the rattles. Change the User's Manual to instruct a person on how to open the truck from the inside the car to read: "Reach under the dash and feel for the two unlighted, unreadable buttons and press both. Then on your way to the trunk, close the gas door, as that was the second button you pressed. 2005 Toyota Avalon Review: Reminds me of the cars built in the 70's. Trim pieces almost fit, but not quite. Muti-speaker sound system helps. Just turn it up and you can't hear too many of the rattles. Poorest quality I've seen from Toyota.

Pros: What do you like about 2005 Toyota Avalon? Goodlooking, safe car. Cons: How would you improve 2005 Toyota Avalon? Improve steering, transmission seeks and shifts awkwardly, add folding side mirrors. 2005 Toyota Avalon Review: The previous 2004 Avalon was a more manuverable car with a better computer, radio and transmission. I will look for an alternative to Avalon after being a Toyota owner for the past 16 years.
