2005 Lexus RX 330

Pros: What do you like about 2006 Lexus RX 330?
Like most everything--it has 108,000 miles and I have just completed a extensive series of recommended upgrades* based on a decision to keep it [I'm 80 yrs old and driving is now much less].

* 90K to 108K mile upgrades---water pump, timing belt, other serpentine belts, hoses and other suggested stuff,etc. Also evacuation and replacement on both the a/c system and cooling system. New rotors, discs & pads, 4 new McPherson Struts, new 5-year battery and Michelin Tour tires, New irridium plugs installed this week.

Cons: How would you improve 2006 Lexus RX 330?
Better transmission, interior storage for right side cups, etc.

My only problem over the years, with this car and the 2 RXs preceding, has been the hesitation in acceleration which I believe lies with the tranny--but Dealer denied it.

Originally said it was because I did not use 93 octane fuel which of course had no effect at all on improving hesitation. I do now use 93 octane because of the cars age and + performance. Routine oil and filter change @ 5,000 miles, rotate and balance and periodically 4-wheel alignment. Other filters routinely changed.

Runs and handles very good, uses no oil in 5K miles but hesitation upon acceleration prevails and I worry about the tranny.

2006 Lexus RX 330 Review:
If younger I would have traded for a 2011 Lexus RX if the owner's reports on the new ones indicated better tranmission performance.

My wife has a Lexus 430 with only 40K miles and it is kept in top condition since we use it mostly for longer trips.

Voice activated system and GPS Navigation system. I enjoy impressing friends when I tell the system "CD ON" and the voice responds "Turning CD Player On..". The GPS system has proven to be invaluable for LA driving, something I thought "Heck, I'll never use that, I know my way around Calf."

Control to turn side mirrors in for tight spaces. 1 button to tilt/open moonroof. More driver side storage areas other than center console.

2006 Lexus RX 330 Review:
After much research I went with the Lexus Thundercload Special Ed. Thus far, I have been VERY pleased with the performance, style and quality of the vehicle. I was a little disappointed with a few minor interior items that came standard in less expensive cars, such as: A place to put trash. I had to buy a small trash bag and carry that with me; Insufficent driver storage places. All you get is a large center console; Two buttons to operate the moonroof (tilt/open) instead of one. But I easily overlook these when compared with all the features and style this puppy comes with like the NAV system, rear camera and Bluetooth. VERY satisfied.

2006 Lexus RX 330 Review:
This is my third Lexus SUV and I am a very happy customer! The drive is good, the looks are good and the price is good! You can't beat the price for what you are getting. I bought 2 RXs in a row. Then decided to try another Make of SUV and what a mistake that was. So I traded it in a year later for the RX 330 and I'm happy again. My passengers love it also. I have only had my SUV in for oil changes & tire rotations. There is never a problem. This SUV you can count on! The stereo system is great, the seats are comfortable and the ride is smooth. I love new cars, so I do a lot of research before making a purchase and I keep coming back to the Lexus. In my book, it's top rated!

More front head room. More powerful engine. Brochure says 230 hp, feels like 190 hp. WHY DOES THE RX 330 OWNERS MANUAL SAY IT IS NORMAL FOR THE RX TO USE UP TO 1 QUART OF OIL EVERY 600 MILES? If Ford or GM put a statement like this in a manual, it would make front page news.

2006 Lexus RX 330 Review:
This is our first front wheel drive Lexus product. To be honest, it will probably be our last. The RX 330 has a very well laid out interior, great leather, good controls. The engine is a little hard to start and loud. There is significantly more road noise with the RX than our previous Lexus SUVs we have owned. We never expereinced this with other Lexus products. For basic transportation the RX 330 is fine. I feel the RX 330 is over rated and over priced.

I love the wood grain paneling and the rear view camera impresses passengers every time. The GPS Navigation system is accurate and will help you find the nearest Target by voice command in a matter of minutes. Best of all is the power rear door with remote keyless entry.

The RX 330 was rated number one for price as well as best drive and comfort for luxury SUVs. I am happy with my recent purchase. I love to drive my RX 330 on the open highway. This SUV is sleek and demands attention because of its shape. It is classy and smart.

My husband bought me the beautiful new 2006 RX 330 2 weeks ago. After waiting for its arrival for 3 weeks, I must report I am thrilled with its style, comfort and performance. Especially when two days into driving the car, a deer ran out into the road and I hit it. This car never lost control. Although there was considerable damage to the front and side, I was very impressed with how well the car handle the impact.
