I love the versatility..The highway miles go by smootly and quickly!. Mine is a Hemi with every option except DVD which I think is a waste of money....The power is insane for a vehicle this size...The stereo is great (I work in the recording industry). But the amazing thing is the off road capabilities... Beyond the normal dirt roads is where this SUV comes into its own with Q-Drive 2...and DSC Cons: How would you improve 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
The interior could be better... I wish there was less hard plastic (which the 09s finally adressed.... The seats are ALMOST really good... but the manual lumbar seems a step back from the previous incarnation... The passenger seat has less controls than the previous version..... 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Review:
I bought out the lease on this car today for cash... I couldn't find anything that could match it. Some cars like the new VW tiguan are REALLY a lot of cash for what you get...and it's half the size...and it's no off roader like the Jeep . I have been lucky .. I have the Jeep that those of you out there that have lemons wished you had... this one has never had a problem! |

Love the styling.
The way it drives.
Really good off roading.
Great for kayaking.
Hiking.
Camping.
Plenty of room for gear lower roof is helpful for loading kayak and other gear.
Great handling in snow and in muddy terrain.
Very stable.

Hard to see when making turns - the side impact airbag right inline of vision.
Whatever material they use for seats stains way too easy - even water stains the seats but simple fix ....seat covers .....

Love Jeeps. Never had a problem with them. This is my 5th one. Will def always drive Jeeps. I've had other suv's and the Grand Cherokee is the best for the type of outdoor adventures I'm into. Few of my friends have Grand Cherokees and they also have no major problems with them. |

It is a beautiful car. I just wish it would run as good as it looks. Cons: How would you improve 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
Please if anyone can help me. My Jeep Cherokee check engine light has come on as soon as I leave the dealership. This car has huge electrical problems from not starting to, fuses that relay the A/C to I believe transmission fuses. It is awful. I have had problems since last December and the dealership can't figure it out. I want Jeep to acknowledge this and they won't. I can't even sell it because the check engine light won't stay off longer than a day. No extended warranty, cause I didn't think I needed one. Boy was I wrong..... Jeep won't back it, the dealer won't back it, I am sure if I drive it off a cliff, the insurance wont back it..... hahah HELP 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Review:
Never buy one again. I bought a new Toyota. |

Has 40,000 miles. Havn't had any problems with mine except the spare tire warning light that keeps coming on.. Dealearship could not find any problems with it.. Overall very nice vehicle. |

The transmission could be revamped. I have had a valve replaced and it still smells like burning transmission fluid. I also have had trouble with my ignition switch. It has been replaced once, and sometime it will not crank. 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Review:

This is my 3rd Jeep. First two I owned were pre-Daimler. I never had an issue with the engine or transmission, only the doors falling off! Will not purchase another unless the transmissions are reliable again. |

I have had my 05 jeep for 2 years . Bought it in 07 with 20,000 miles. After 1 year had a problem with ignition switch? Car would not start, and while driving-----IT STOPPED!! DANGEROUS !!In 5 months it is back at the dealership with the same problem. I have had multiple Jeeps and this will be my last one. |

Like the spacious interior and the great handling on winter roads.
The 3.7 V6 has impressive "get-up-and go" and still has great fuel mileage.
Instrument panel seems to be well lite for night time driving.
Interior easy to clean when soiled.
Seating seem to be comfortable for all length trips. Cons: How would you improve 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
Have experienced expensive transmission and transfer case problems with this model and previous Grand Cherokee's I have owned. Need to re-design the power train components to last over 50,000 miles.
Also, the new lower roof design is not very friendly to taller people. 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Review:
Beside the fact of some poor mechanical qualities, this is over all a great vehicle. I have owned 3 Grand Cherokee's and have like them all. There is plenty of room to carry gear for a day in the wilderness or a trip to the grocery store! I recommend this vehicle to anyone, providing they can deal with the occasional mechanic problems. |

I've owned several Grand Cherokees and this one is no disapointment. My 01 went well over 100K with very few problems before being traded and this 05 is looking like it will too. The Hemi drinks lots of gas but it runs like a hot rod. I think my 01 rode smooter and felt more "tough" off road but the 05 is great. |
