Very poor interior (cheap cars have better), poor paint on the interior, bearings on wheels go bad early. Would not buy another Chevy product. Check engine light would come on when I had less than 15,000 miles on it. Dealership said they couldn't find anything wrong so had to drive a new car with problems. |

Thankful I bought Extended Warranty! Had a paint boil fixed on the back of the vehicle, had to have sunroof put back on track, had power-steering bearing replaced, had carriage links replaced under warranty. Also have chip on radio face paint! 2005 Chevrolet Equinox Review:
Knowing what I know, I had the DexCool Orange flushed from my vehicle at 30K, to avoid radiator problems. Found I needed new brakes at 37K, which is unheard of (in my opinion). Have found if general maintenance is kept up with this vehicle, it will run like a beauty! |

This car was such a piece of junk. Three different times in four years I discovered that I was driving with a tire being held on by one lug nut. The car shakes terribly every time I go over 60mph. The paint on the inside is all chipped away. The car has 55,000 miles and needs all new tires. The windshield wipers SUCK! This car is so uncomfortable. No one at Chevy cared that my tires almost fell off!!! I had to fight them to pay to fix it even though I had the extended warranty! Who would want to buy a car whose lug nuts fall off the tires for no reason and out of the blue?? Do yourself a favor and don't buy an Equinox. Ever. |

When sunroof is open there is a loud flopping noise. I have had to replace brakes, turn rotors and now replace both front wheel bearings. I have had the car 2 yrs, and it only has 60,000 miles. There is no way all this stuff should have to be replaced on a vehicle that costs what this one does. I have had the problem with the ignition a few times that others speak of. But it doesn't happen on a routine basis. IF there are all the problems with the Equinox that there seems to be. Maybe if everyone stopped buying them Chevrolet would do something about fixing the issues. My paint on the inside trim also is coming off easily. |

Outside Dents easily, lots of small dents (from where? Who knows.), In the past couple months I've had to spend over $1100 on repairs. Left front brake router, break pads, ABS Censor (ABS light constantly on), BOTH rear hub bearings (Loud road noise, bearings completely worn), Steering Wheel Column replaced (Vibration when breaking or hitting any kind of bumb in the road), and one thing that nobody can seem to figure out is the ignition problem. It doesn't do it all the time, but every few starts it will take 5-6 cranks to start up. Not to mention the paint on my stereo buttons coming off, paint on the inside of the doors wearing off, Seats staining..and then staining more when I put cleaner on them? No ash tray. Speakers are bad, people in the backseat constantly say they can't hear very well even though I have the speakers balanced around the car. Not enough room behind rear seat. 2005 Chevrolet Equinox Review:
I love my car, but it's only 4 years old and I'm having to replace all of these parts. It's got 66,000 miles on it, which is less than 20,000 a year. There isn't a recall on any of this, and by reading reviews, it seems there should be. It's rediculous that I'm having to put out all this money on my car WHILE I'M STILL MAKING CAR PAYMENTS. Maybe all of us Equinox owners should kick up about it and see what happens. |

The interior paint scratches extremely easy. There is an issue starting the SUV; It will crank (many)5-6 times and then finally start up. Sometimes the starter will continue to crank, or stay engaged after the engine has started. The front suspension is very noisy, in addition, there is lots of road noise, and rattling. The car shakes, and trembles when braking HWY high speeds. The key often sticks in the ignition switch, and is very hard to remove at times. 2005 Chevrolet Equinox Review:
I like the vehicle for the most part; That includes the style and shape, inside and out, of the vehicle. I am however, worried about the longevity of the vehicle, I just hope it lasts. |

The brakes make a noise and seem to grab, the abs light and traction light stay on all the time. I have taken it to the chevrolet dealership but they can't fix it. I have had the brakes checked out at the pontiac dealership and at another car repair place. No one can solve the problem. They know there is a problem but no one can solve it. I would make the paint on the radio more durable, mine is half off already. The seats are not comfortable, and i have a problem with getting it to start, it will crank anywhere from 5-6 times and then finally start up.The brakes are terrible, i have already had to replace my rotors twice and my pads. 2005 Chevrolet Equinox Review:

The leg room in the back is great Cons: How would you improve 2005 Chevrolet Equinox?
Having a major problem with the fact that it tries to crank over and does not want to connect until the 2nd or 3rd try. Dealer could not find the problem. The material used for the seats are terrible, even water stained my seats. 2005 Chevrolet Equinox Review:
I feel that if enough people are having the same problem of the ignition having to crank over numerous times until it connects, well then there should be a recall for this and something should be done. |
