2005 Buick Rendezvous

Pros: What do you like about 2005 Buick Rendezvous?
I love the exterior design.

The car's performance in traffic .. it's never let me down, ie: sluggish, left me on the side of the road, etc. I have had my Rendevous 5 yrs.

The roomy interior is perfect, however, I couldn't give it a perfect score due to numerous problems. When you pay $30,000 for a car ... it's hard to deal with all the problems later and smile.

Cons: How would you improve 2005 Buick Rendezvous?
Had to replace ball joints due to manufacturer defect, which was covered under the extended warranty. Rear end is now going out from damage to it from all the wear and tear that we THOUGHT was bad tires before.

Gas mileage is very poor but replacing the ball joints in the car ... that was possibly damaged from the day we bought it.. because it helped the gas mileage. We went from getting 18 mpg to getting 21 mpg in the car. (This the average as per the car setting).

Seats in the car get dirty very fast... I can't seem to keep them clean. Unfortunately we no longer have an extended warranty.

Overall.. it's been a good car.. Just buy an extended warranty if you want to buy this car.

Pros: What do you like about 2005 Buick Rendezvous?
Purchased a used Ultra, 80,000 miles very clean and beautiful, inside and out.
I like the interior space and captains chairs. White with beige interior so it needs to be cleaned often.

Cons: How would you improve 2005 Buick Rendezvous?
Runs rough when just starting up. I use midrange octane but sluggish going up inclines, good on highway. Stiff and rough on bumpy roads. Going to change tires and have the shocks checked to see it that helps.

I like the looks, haven't had a bad Buick product yet, this is my third Buick - the others were Regals. First SUV don't want to be disappointed by transmission problems like other reviews I have seen.

So far in 18 months of ownership have had to have the dashboard electronics replaced: cost $1,000 (the gas gauge still doesn't operate correctly) so one never knows exactly how much gas is in the tank, left front wheel bearing had to be replaced: $300.00, one of middle captains seat back is broken. Incidentally, this car was purchased from Carmax. They claim that a 125 point inspection is done on all of the vehicles they sell. The mechanic who inspected this vehicle must have been hung over.

Poor gas mileage.

In my estimation there is a good reason the Rendezvous run was only 3 years: the vehicle is about as reliable as: uh...I can't think of anything that I have owned that is less reliable than the Rendezvous.

It gives a smooth ride, it is very roomy, and I love the interior.

Gas per mile needs to be improved and it's hard to find seat covers.

The veratrack system is poorly thought out by engineers.

Pooooooooooooor gas mileage, 13 mpg ....although I changed spark plugs, air filter and cleaned the injectors but still bad in gas.
All gauges are not working properly.

Mine is 05 AWD 3.4 and I never recommend anybody to buy a Rendezvous!!!

The gas gauge reads improper. Put $30 dollars in tank, two days later the gauge is reading low fuel. Only travel 25-50 miles within that time.

It is very very very comfortable, when you drive you feel like driving on the clouds, very comfortable seats.
Nice mirrors.
It looks good.

Cons: How would you improve 2005 Buick Rendezvous?
Sound system.
Trunk door has to open from inside not just with the key.
If rims are bigger, more beautiful.

I don't change it with any car. I had so many cars, American and Japanese car and I'm gonna say that Buick Rendezvous is great and great and great.

We love how roomy it is and the smooth ride. We had 3 car seats in the back seat and had plenty of room for buckling! We have owned it for 3 yrs and have over 100K miles on it and have done nothing more than general maintenance on it so far. (knock on wood!)

Cons: How would you improve 2005 Buick Rendezvous?
We would like to have the third row seat or an easy option for getting one.
Also, the cloth seats stain easily and cannot be kept clean with 3 children.

The inside is comfortable and it looks sharp.

It burns a lot of gas not sure if there is a problem with the gas gauge on mine but it always goes up and down.
